CBSE Admit Card 2027: Regular and Private Candidates

CBSE has not released the 2027 date sheet or admit cards yet. Schools are still submitting the list of candidates. Here is when the admit card usually arrives, how regular and private students get it, and how the two Class 10 exams work.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, केंद्रीय माध्यमिक शिक्षा बोर्ड) issues an admit card (प्रवेश पत्र) to every Class 10 and Class 12 candidate before the board exams. For 2027, the admit cards are not out and no release date has been announced as of 15 October 2026. Even the 2027 date sheet has not been released yet.

Right now the process is at an earlier stage: schools are submitting the List of Candidates (LOC), which is the data your admit card will be printed from. This page explains the timeline, the two Class 10 board exams, and how regular and private students get their cards. Confirm everything on the official site, cbse.gov.in.

CBSE admit card 2027 kab aayega?

Not announced. Based on the usual pattern, CBSE admit cards are issued in early to mid February, shortly before the exams. Exams in 2027 are expected from mid-February, according to news reports (Careers360, October 2026).

For comparison, last year the tentative date sheet came out on 24 September. This year it was still not released as of 14 October 2026, so the whole schedule may be a little later. Treat any "admit card date" you see online as a guess until CBSE issues a notice.

Why the LOC matters for your admit card

The LOC (List of Candidates) is the list your school sends to CBSE with each student's details, such as name, parents' names, date of birth and subjects. Your admit card is generated from this data, so mistakes in the LOC become mistakes on your admit card.

How regular students get the admit card

  1. CBSE releases admit cards to schools through the affiliated schools login on its website.
  2. The school downloads the admit cards for all its students.
  3. The principal signs each card, and the school issues it to the student.
  4. You check the details and report any error to the school at once.

A regular student does not need to download anything. If your friends say "the link is out" but your school has not given cards yet, wait for the school; the school is the official route for you.

How private candidates get the admit card

Private candidates (for example, those repeating a subject or appearing again after a previous attempt) do not have a school to collect the card from. They download it themselves from cbse.gov.in using their application number and login credentials from the private candidate form.

  • Private applications for 2027 are open until 23 October 2026, according to news reports.
  • Save your application number, password and the confirmation page now, in at least two places.

Stay safe. Government jobs are never sold. Ignore anyone who asks for money for selection, an appointment letter or a 'setting'. Check every notice on the official site of the commission or board; job links on social media can be fake.

Two board exams for Class 10: what changes

From the 2026 exams onward, Class 10 has two board exams, according to news reports (IANS, June 2025; Kashmir Life, July 2026):

  • Phase 1 (mid-February): compulsory for all students.
  • Phase 2 (May): optional, for improving up to 3 subjects. Compartment candidates may also sit it.
  • Internal assessment is done only once.

In 2026 the main exam ran from 17 February to 11 March, the second exam ran from 15 to 21 May with 6,64,027 registered, and its result was out by 18 July 2026. If you register for the second exam, check the CBSE circular for how its admit card will be issued. Class 12 still has a single board exam plus a supplementary exam.

What to check on your CBSE admit card

  • Your name and your parents' names, matching the LOC.
  • Date of birth.
  • Photo and signature.
  • Roll number.
  • Subjects and subject codes.
  • Exam centre name and address.
  • The principal's signature, for regular students.

Carry the original admit card to every paper, read the instructions printed on it, and keep it safe after the exams because you need the roll number for the result on cbseresults.nic.in.
