A 12th pass (इंटर पास) qualification opens many more doors than 10th. You can sit for clerical exams like SSC CHSL, stenographer posts, railway non-graduate posts, Air Force and Navy Agniveer entries, the NDA, and state police constable drives. Most of these are recurring: they come every year or so, with similar rules.
Below we list the main ones, with the latest age and qualification rules we could source and where each cycle stands as of 15 October 2026. Where a detail comes only from job sites, we say so. SSC CHSL 2026 (LDC/JSA, DEO): correction window open now
The Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) exam fills Lower Division Clerk / Junior Secretariat Assistant (LDC/JSA) and Data Entry Operator (DEO) posts. According to news reports (Careers360, 8 September 2026):
- Vacancies: 2,536 (tentative).
- Applications: online at ssc.gov.in till 7 October 2026 (closed).
- Fee: Rs 100; women, SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen exempt. Fee payment was allowed till 10 October; one job site gives 8 October, so the dates conflict.
- Correction window: 14 to 16 October 2026. If you applied and spot a mistake, this is the time to fix it on ssc.gov.in.
Reported by job sites, not confirmed by the commission (check the official notice): age 18 to 27 as on 1 August 2026; Tier-1 tentatively from 30 November to 31 December 2026; pay at Level 2 for LDC/JSA and Level 4/5 for DEO.

SSC Stenographer Grade C and D
SSC Stenographer posts are open to 12th pass candidates. For the 2025 cycle, according to news reports (Careers360, June 2025), there were 261 posts, the age limit was 18 to 30 for Grade C and 18 to 27 for Grade D as on 1 August 2025, and the fee was Rs 100 with the usual exemptions.
For the 2026 cycle, according to news reports (PW, September 2026), applications ran from 24 April to 15 May 2026 for about 1,275 tentative vacancies, and the computer based exam was revised to 9 to 15 September 2026. Railway: RRB NTPC Undergraduate
The NTPC Undergraduate posts are for 12th pass candidates. The details below for CEN 07/2025 are reported by job sites and not confirmed by the RRBs, so check the official notice:
- 3,058 posts: Commercial cum Ticket Clerk (Level 3), and Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Clerk cum Typist and Trains Clerk (Level 2).
- 12th with 50% marks, waived for SC, ST, PwBD, ex-servicemen and those with higher qualifications.
- Age 18 to 30 as on 1 January 2026.
- Notified 28 October 2025; last date 4 December 2025.

State police: UP Police Constable example
Many state police constable drives ask for 12th pass. One large recent example: according to news reports (Careers360, 31 December 2025), UP Police (UPPRPB) advertised 32,679 posts including Constable Civil Police, PAC and Jail Warder. The qualification was 12th pass, the maximum age was 22 for men and 25 for women, and registration ran till 30 January 2026 on uppbpb.gov.in.
Each state sets its own age, height and qualification rules, and they can differ for every cycle. Read the specific notice for your state.
How to prepare your application properly
- Check the age cut-off date in the notice (for example 1 August or 1 January), not today's date.
- Check subject rules: some posts need Science or Maths in 12th, and some count percentages strictly.
- Register on the official site only: ssc.gov.in for SSC, rrbapply.gov.in for railways, upsc.gov.in for UPSC.

Questions and answers
12th pass ke liye vacancy abhi kaun si chal rahi hai?
As of 15 October 2026, SSC CHSL 2026 applications have closed, but the correction window runs from 14 to 16 October 2026, according to news reports. Most other 12th-level cycles in this guide have closed or finished their exams. Watch ssc.gov.in, rrbapply.gov.in and upsc.gov.in, and Employment News, for new notices.
12th pass government job me age limit kitni hoti hai?
It depends on the post. SSC CHSL 2026 is reported as 18 to 27; SSC Stenographer was 18 to 30 (Grade C) and 18 to 27 (Grade D) in 2025; Agniveervayu 01/2027 needed birth between 1 January 2006 and 1 July 2009. Relaxations apply for reserved categories as per each notice.
SSC CHSL 2026 exam kab hoga?
Job sites report that Tier-1 is tentatively planned from 30 November to 31 December 2026, but this is not confirmed by the commission. Check the official notice and the exam schedule on ssc.gov.in. Admit cards are usually released close to the exam, and you will need your registration number and password to log in.
12th ke baad ladkiyon ke liye sarkari naukri kaun si hai?
Most posts in this guide are open to women, and SSC exams waive the Rs 100 fee for women. UP Police allowed a higher maximum age for women (25) than men (22) in its last drive, according to news reports. Check each notice for any rules specific to women.
Kya 12th me 50% marks zaroori hai?
Not for every job. Agniveervayu 01/2027 needed 50% aggregate and 50% in English in 10+2, per the official advertisement. RRB NTPC Undergraduate asks for 50% with waivers for some groups, as reported by job sites. SSC CHSL needs a 12th pass without a stated minimum percentage in the sources we checked.
