MP Police SI Bharti 2026: Posts, Exam Date and Selection

MP SI vacancy 2026: what is reported

According to job sites, the 2026 drive was notified on 1 September 2026 under advertisement number PHQ/2-Chayan/S-1/997/26. The key reported points:

All rows in this table are reported by job sites; not confirmed by the Board, check the official notice. The post-wise split between SI and Subedar, the age limit, fee, qualification and pay for 2026 were not available in any source we could verify, so we do not list them. Read the advertisement PDF on the Board's site for those details.

Exam date: is 28 October final?

The 28 October 2026 prelims date comes from job sites, not from a notice we could read. As of 15 October 2026 we have not seen the admit card or an exam city slip reported. Two cautions:

• ESB has moved dates before. In the 2025 cycle, Phase 2 was shifted from 26 April to 29 April 2026, according to news reports (March 2026).
• If the exam is on 28 October, the admit card would normally appear a few days before. Watch esb.mp.gov.in daily from now.

Keep preparing as if the date holds, but confirm it from the Board before you book travel. General steps for downloading an admit card are in our admit card download guide.

How the 2025 cycle went

The previous drive is the best guide to how the 2026 one may run. According to news reports (March 2026), the 2025 cycle had 500 posts: 472 SI and 28 Subedar.

1. Phase 1 (prelims): held 16 to 21 January 2026.
2. Phase 1 result: 12 March 2026, with 5,734 candidates qualifying. That is a little over 11 candidates per post.
3. Phase 2: moved from 26 April to 29 April 2026.
4. Phase 2 result: 18 May 2026, as reported by job sites (not confirmed here).
5. Physical test, document verification and final result: dates not found in any source we checked.

So even the 2025 cycle has no reported final result as of October 2026. If you were in that cycle, check the result section of esb.mp.gov.in for physical test and document verification notices.

Selection process

Based on the 2025 cycle, selection for MP Police SI and Subedar moves through these stages:

• Phase 1: written prelims, which shortlists candidates.
• Phase 2: second written stage for those who qualify Phase 1.
• Physical test: for shortlisted candidates.
• Document verification, then the final merit list.

The exact marks, syllabus, negative marking and physical standards for 2026 are set out in the notice. We have not been able to verify them, so we do not reproduce coaching-site numbers here. For the related constable exam, our MP Police Constable page has the pattern and physical standards reported for that drive.

Preparation checklist for the next few weeks

1. Open the 2026 advertisement on esb.mp.gov.in and note the syllabus and marking scheme in your own words.
2. Check that your application status shows as submitted and your fee as paid. Keep the printout.
3. Keep a valid original photo ID (such as Aadhaar or voter ID) whose name and date of birth match your form; exam bodies commonly ask for this.
4. Practise previous ESB papers within the same time limit as the notice.
5. If the admit card shows a wrong photo or name, contact the Board immediately using the helpline in the notice.

Applying for other uniformed posts too? Compare with Bihar Police SI (Daroga), which has its own status page on this site.

Stay safe from fake alerts

Police recruitment attracts scams: fake admit card links, paid "setting" offers and forged selection letters. Remember:

• Only esb.mp.gov.in and esb.mponline.gov.in handle this exam. Do not enter your login details on look-alike sites.
• No genuine recruitment asks for money to guarantee selection.
• Check any viral "result" or "new date" message against the Board's notice board first.

Our fake job alert guide lists warning signs and where to report them. Students of MP Board can also follow MP Board admit card updates on this site.
