SSC GD result 2026: what the numbers mean
The result declared on 12 October 2026 is the written (CBT) stage result, not the final selection. Being on the list means you are called for PET/PST. It does not mean you have a job yet.
- Shortlisted for PET/PST: 1,97,408 candidates, of whom 15,782 are female (news reports, October 2026).
- Candidates who appeared: the figures conflict. One report gives 21,56,776 and another gives 48,83,309. We are showing both because we could not confirm either on the official site. The result notice on ssc.gov.in is the only reliable source for this number.
The result is usually published as PDF lists with roll numbers. Search the PDF for your roll number (Ctrl+F on a computer, or the "Find in page" option in your phone browser). Category-wise cut-off marks are normally given in the same notice. We have not listed cut-offs here because we could not verify them from the official notice.

How to check the SSC GD result on ssc.gov.in
SSC moved to its new website ssc.gov.in in 2024, replacing ssc.nic.in, and candidates had to do a fresh One-Time Registration (OTR) there (news report, Careers360). Follow these steps:
- Type ssc.gov.in yourself in the browser address bar. Do not use links forwarded on WhatsApp or Telegram.
- Open the results section and look for the Constable (GD) 2026 result notice.
- Open the result PDF (lists are often split by gender or force).
- Search for your roll number or name in the PDF.
- Save or print the PDF page that shows your roll number, and keep the notice that explains the next stage.
- Log in with your OTR registration number and password to see any marks or candidate-specific notice when SSC makes them available.
Menu names on government sites change often, so the exact button label may differ. If you cannot find the notice, check again later rather than trusting a copy from an unknown site. Our general guide on admit card download explains what to do if you forget your registration number or password.
Warning: sscgd.gov.in is not a known official site
Many people search for "sscgd gov in". We found no evidence that sscgd.gov.in is an official SSC website. No official page for it turned up, and it could not be loaded. The GD Constable exam is run through ssc.gov.in.
Fake look-alike sites often copy government logos and ask for login details, OTP or a "verification fee". A logo does not prove that a site is genuine. Never pay anyone to "confirm" your selection or PET slot. Read our page on fake job alerts for more checks you can do before trusting a site or a letter.
PET/PST status and what to do now
According to news reports (October 2026), the PET/PST will be conducted by the CAPFs, and the dates are not announced yet. No PET admit card date has been announced either. Any website that shows a fixed PET date today is guessing.
The physical height, chest and running standards differ by gender, category and region, and we could not verify them from the official notice for this cycle, so we are not listing them here. Check the 2026 notice on ssc.gov.in for the exact standards that apply to you.
What you can do while you wait:
- Keep your registration number, password and registered mobile number working, because OTP messages go there.
- Keep your original documents ready: 10th certificate for date of birth, category certificate if you claimed a category, and a valid photo ID.
- Start or continue physical practice now, based on the standards printed in the notice, not on social media posts.
- Check ssc.gov.in regularly for the PET/PST notice and admit card instructions.
SSC GD admit card: how it usually works
For the written exam, SSC candidates logged in at ssc.gov.in with their OTR registration number and password. Job sites report a "Forgot Password" option that sends an OTP to the registered mobile or email, and a forgot registration number option; this is not confirmed by the commission, so check the login page itself.
For PET/PST, the admit card process will be announced in the PET notice. Whatever the method, on the day you normally need:
- A printed admit card.
- An original photo ID (such as Aadhaar, voter ID, PAN, passport or driving licence) with your name and date of birth matching the admit card.
- Any extra items the admit card itself lists, such as photographs.
Reach before the reporting time printed on the card. Phones and electronic items are generally not allowed inside.
Answer key and objections: what happened
The answer key for the 2026 CBT came out around mid June 2026. According to news reports (June 2026), candidates could raise objections till 20 June 2026, and SSC now charges Rs 50 per question challenged (it was Rs 100 per question in 2024). That window is closed. If you want to understand how objection windows work for future exams, see our answer key objection guide.
If you did not clear this time, the next SSC GD notice has not been announced. Many candidates also apply for other 10th-level posts in the meantime; our list of 10th pass government jobs covers the main ones, and the RRB Group D page tracks the railway exam that has a similar level.
