Bank exam season is in full swing. IBPS Clerk prelims has just been held, IBPS PO and SBI PO mains are over, and SBI Clerk prelims results are awaited. Here is where each exam stands and how to get the next admit card.

IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) recruits for public sector banks and regional rural banks, while SBI runs its own PO and Clerk (Junior Associate) exams. All of them issue call letters (admit card, प्रवेश पत्र) online only, a few days before each stage.
This page tracks the 2026-27 cycle as of 15 October 2026. Most dates come from news reports, because our researchers could not read the IBPS and SBI notice boards directly. IBPS Clerk admit card and status
The IBPS Clerk CSA-XVI prelims was held on 10 and 11 October 2026, and the prelims admit card was live on ibps.in before the exam, according to news reports (Karmactive, October 2026).
Vacancies: about 11,403 were reported, later reported as revised to 11,663. Check the official vacancy PDF on ibps.in for the current state-wise figure.
What is next: the prelims result, and then the mains call letter. The mains is shown as 27 December 2026 in the tentative calendar. No prelims result date has been announced.

- Open ibps.in.
- Click the CRP-CSA-XVI call letter link.
- Log in with your registration number and date of birth (or password), and enter the captcha.
- Download the call letter and print it.

IBPS PO status
According to news reports (Adda247), the IBPS PO/MT-XVI cycle stands as follows:
- Posts: 7,565 after revision, including 650 added by Indian Bank, across 11 public sector banks (news reports).
- Prelims held 22 to 23 August 2026; result declared 23 September 2026.
- Mains held 4 October 2026. The mains result is not out yet.
- Interview expected in November or December 2026, and the final result is expected in January 2027. The interview call letter will need the same login.
Reported pattern: prelims of 100 questions, 100 marks, 60 minutes with 0.25 negative marking; mains of 170 questions, 200 marks, 160 minutes plus a 25-mark descriptive paper; final merit weights mains 80 and interview 20. Eligibility was graduation and age 20 to 30 as on 1 July 2026.
SBI PO and SBI Clerk status
SBI PO 2026 (news reports, Careers360 and Adda247): notified 18 June 2026 with 1,500 posts. Prelims was around 1 to 2 August, its result came out by 29 August, and mains was held on 12 September 2026. The mains result was not out as of 5 October 2026 and is expected in October. Phase 3 (psychometric test, group exercise and interview) is expected in November 2026.
SBI Clerk (Junior Associates) 2026: registration opened 11 August and closed 31 August 2026. Regular posts: 7,680. Backlog figures conflict: Careers360 reports 1,444, while PW reports 2,086 (total 9,766). Prelims was held on 26 and 27 September 2026; some sources also list 3 October. The prelims result is expected in October 2026 and was not declared as of 7 October. Mains is tentatively in November 2026, and the mains call letter will follow the result.
SBI website: the careers portal has been at sbi.co.in/web/careers, and news outlets now also cite sbi.bank.in, the bank's new .bank.in address. Because the address is changing, reach the careers page from the bank's main site rather than a forwarded link, and do not use look-alike sites.
Forgot your registration number or password?
Bank portals usually offer a way to recover your registration number or password from the login page, using your registered email or mobile. If that fails:
- Search your email inbox for the registration confirmation sent when you applied.
- Check the application form PDF or fee receipt you saved.
- Use the helpdesk or contact option listed on the official site.

What to carry and photo rules
For bank exams, carry the printed call letter, an original photo ID (Aadhaar, voter ID, PAN, passport or driving licence) whose name matches the call letter, and any extra photo the call letter asks for. Reach before the reporting time; latecomers may not be allowed in.
Bank-style portals use set sizes for uploads. The IBPS-style template (as used by IPPB) asks for a photo of 200 x 230 pixels at 20 to 50 KB, a signature of 140 x 60 pixels at 10 to 20 KB, a left thumb impression of 240 x 240 pixels at 20 to 50 KB, and a handwritten declaration of 800 x 400 pixels at 50 to 100 KB. Use the photo and signature resizer for future forms. Wear a similar look on exam day to your uploaded photo, so it matches at verification.
Beware of fake call letter sites
