Who could apply: eligibility as reported

• Domicile: Rajasthan.
• Experience: at least 1 year of sanitation work experience in a Rajasthan urban body. The experience certificate had to be dated on or after 1 August 2026.
• One body only: each candidate could apply to only one urban local body.
• Age: 21 to 40 years.
• Education: none required.

The experience certificate rule matters because the previous drive was cancelled over complaints of fake experience certificates. Expect certificates to be checked closely at scrutiny and document verification. If your certificate is genuine, keep the original and any supporting record of your work safe.

How the safai karmchari lottery works

There is no written exam. As reported, selection follows these steps:

1. Scrutiny: applications are checked for eligibility, especially domicile and the experience certificate.
2. Online lottery in three priority tiers: first candidates of the same urban body, then candidates from the same district, then candidates from the rest of the state.
3. Document verification (DV): those picked in the lottery bring original documents for checking.
4. Appointment on a contractual basis at the honorarium stated in the notice.

Why the 2024 drive for 23,820 posts was cancelled

The earlier drive was notified on 29 September 2024 for 23,820 posts. According to news reports (ETV Bharat, 4 December 2024), the lottery set for 7 December 2024 was cancelled by an order dated 4 December 2024, after complaints of fake experience certificates. The same report said this was the third time the drive had been stopped.

In April 2026, according to news reports (Laws and Legals, 28 April 2026), the Rajasthan High Court issued notice to the state over the long delay in filling 23,820 posts across 309 bodies. We have not seen any later court order about the new 2026 drive. If a court order affects the lottery, it will be reported on the official portal and in the news, so keep checking.

• Lottery date: not announced.
• Number of applications received: not reported in the sources we checked.
• Scrutiny results: no list of eligible or rejected candidates reported yet.
• DV schedule and joining: not announced.
• Official portal address: applications went through SSO Rajasthan (sso.rajasthan.gov.in) and the Local Self Government (LSG) recruitment portal. Sources give different LSG addresses, so we do not link one. Reach it through your SSO login and check the address in your browser.

Anyone giving a "confirmed" lottery date today is not quoting an official notice we could find.

• Keep your SSO ID and password safe, and keep the mobile number linked to it active.
• Keep your domicile certificate, experience certificate, ID and category certificate (if any) ready in original and copies.
• Check the LSG portal through SSO and your urban body's notice board for the lottery notice.
• Do not pay anyone for a "seat" in the lottery.
