BSSC Inter Level Exam: Date, Admit Card and Syllabus Status

Prelims date: not announced. Admit card: not released.

Job sites reported that the BSSC exam calendar released around February 2026 showed the prelims as tentatively June to July 2026. That is reported by job sites and not confirmed by the commission; in any case, that window has passed without an exam.

Job sites also report a series of BSSC notices about hiring an agency to run the computer based test (CBT): a tender on 29 July 2026, a date extension on 27 August, a corrigendum on 16 September and a technical evaluation for the post-exam agency on 23 September 2026. These are reported by job sites; not confirmed by us on the commission's notice board, so check the official notice. If they are correct, the exam is waiting for the CBT agency to be selected, and a date is unlikely until that is finished.

How this cycle got here (do not confuse the two adverts)

Many candidates mix up the two advertisements. Here is the order of events, based on news reports.

1. Advt 02/2023 (August 2023): the original 2nd Inter Level advert. About 26 lakh applications came in, according to news reports (Careers360, December 2025). No exam was ever held.
2. Advt 02/23(A) (27 to 29 September 2025): the cycle was re-advertised with 23,175 posts, made up of 12,199 original posts plus 10,976 added.
3. 15 October 2025: the new online application opened.
4. December 2025: vacancies were raised to 24,492, as reported.
5. January 2026: the last date was extended again, as reported.

The application window is now closed. If you did not apply under 02/23(A), you cannot join this exam; watch for the next advert instead.

Posts and vacancy count

At re-notification in September 2025, news reports gave this post-wise split:

7,394 posts were reserved for women. The total was later raised to 24,492 (news reports, December 2025). Job sites now report 25,311 and then 26,426 posts. These later figures are reported by job sites and not confirmed by the commission, so check the latest official vacancy notice before you quote a number.

Eligibility, fee and application dates

• Qualification: Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent, as per news reports of the notice. See more options in our list of 12th pass government jobs.
• Age: 18 to 37 years for general category men, as on 1 August 2025. Higher upper limits for women and reserved categories are reported by job sites; check the notice for your category.
• Fee: Rs 100 for all categories, according to news reports.
• Application: opened 15 October 2025. The last date was extended several times. News reports confirm an extension into January 2026; job sites report a final last date of 16 February 2026, with fee payment by 13 February 2026, which is not confirmed by the commission.

Selection process and syllabus (what is reported)

News reports describe four stages:

1. Prelims, held only if applicants exceed 40,000 (with lakhs of applicants, a prelims is expected).
2. Mains written exam.
3. Skill or typing test for some posts.
4. Document verification.

The detailed pattern below is reported by job sites and not confirmed by the commission. Check the official notice PDF.

• Prelims (reported): 150 multiple choice questions, 600 marks, 2 hours 15 minutes, +4 for a right answer and minus 1 for a wrong one. Subjects: General Studies, General Science and Maths, and Mental Ability. Paper in Hindi and English.
• Mains (reported): Paper 1 on General Awareness and Hindi; Paper 2 on Mental Ability/Reasoning, General Maths and Science.
• Up to 5 times the category-wise vacancies are reported to go through to Mains.

Salary: what we can and cannot say

The pay level for each post is in the official notification, and we could not read that PDF. Job sites commonly say the LDC post is Level 2, but this is not confirmed, and different posts may sit at different levels. We are not publishing a per-post salary (वेतन) until it can be checked against the notice. If you see a site quoting exact in-hand pay for every post, treat it as an estimate.

What to do while you wait

1. Keep your login safe. Note your registration number and password. You will need them to download the admit card when it comes. Our admit card download guide explains what to do if you forget them.
2. Check the official site weekly at bssc.bihar.gov.in, under its notices. Do not trust WhatsApp forwards with "leaked" dates.
3. Prepare for the reported prelims subjects: General Studies, General Science and Maths, and Mental Ability (reasoning). Negative marking (reported) means accuracy matters.
4. Keep documents ready: 10th and 12th marksheets, caste, residence and EWS certificates if claimed, and a valid photo ID. Make sure the name on your ID matches your application.
5. Practise typing if you want the clerk-cum-typist type posts, because a skill test is part of selection for some posts.

Bihar candidates can also track the Bihar Daroga (SI) exam status, which faced its own cancellation in 2026.

BSSC Graduate Level (Advt 05/2025) in brief

Some readers search for "BSSC exam date" meaning the graduate level exam. For the 4th Graduate Level exam (Advt 05/2025), job sites report 1,883 posts (revised from 1,481), including 1,406 Assistant Section Officer posts, with applications from 25 August to 24 November 2025 and a Rs 100 fee. All of this is reported by job sites and not confirmed by the commission. Its prelims date was also not announced as of late September 2026, and the calendar window of June to August 2026 has passed.
